Keeping hydrated is so important for all aspects of our life including strong immunity, skin health, digestive health, and mental health; but sometimes it can seem like a real struggle to keep our H20 intake up!
Here are 4 ways to make your water fun:
- Add a Twist of Flavour
Use fruits and fresh herbs, like mint & thyme, to naturally flavour your water – Think citrus fruits, berries, apples, melons, cucumbers…Keep a jug of fruit-infused water in the fridge so it’s easy – bonus, the water will be extra flavourful as the fruit has more time to infuse – you can top this up with more water throughout the day
- Try it in a Tea
If you’re struggling to drink lots of cold water then turn to tea…as long as your tea is a herbal, non-caffeinated blend (sorry no green, white or black teas!) then you will be gaining the H20 benefits (bonus: try making your OWN teas by steeping fruits, fresh herbs and spices in hot water – I love rosemary & lavendar)
- Ice it
Make your own fun ice cubes by freezing pieces of colorful fruit or fresh herbs in an ice cube tray – I like to make strawberry and mint ice cubes, they look so pretty in the glass together, plus you get the bonus of a flavour shot at the end of your glass! This is a fun activity to try with kids to get them interested in their own water intake
- Add some sparkle
Using carbonated water can help some people get their water intake up as it gives you that bubbly feeling of having a soft drink – try adding carbonated water to your fruit infused still water OR you could whizz up/crush some fruits into a puree and add your sparkling water into that for a bigger flavour boost/homemade “soda”
The human body is around 60% water, so let’s keep ourselves topped up!
